Cottage facilities:

There are 5 fully equipped 2-bedroomed gold-mining style cottages, aptly named Firefly, Froggy Pond, Fieldmouse, FoxGlove and Fairy Den. Each cottage houses up to 5 persons and offers the following accommodation: veranda with table & chairs that overlooks the private barbeque area; a private outdoor hot water double-shower; hammock; an open plan lounge / dining / kitchen (Fridge with freezer, stove with oven plus extras like microwave & tv/video), Cozy fireplace; Main bedroom with Double bed, Second bedroom with 2 single beds (cot and extra mattress on request), victorian bath and basin (toilet separate). Linen and bathing towels are provided and cottages are serviced daily. Park right next to your cottage.

The jungle gym and our pet donkeys (Hansel & Gretel) delight the kids. No need to get bored: Stunning birdlife, Forest walks and biking trails (mountain bikes for hire), swimming at the Beach or at Drupkelders rock pools, picnic at Jubilee Creek, nearby Forest horse riding; fishing at The Drift or a host of adventure activities in the area (e.g. Canopying, Abseiling, Ferry rides, Whale and Dolphin tours) and day trip options (e.g. Elephant Park, Monkeyland and more). As an alternative to braaing under the stars there are wonderful country restaurants and tea gardens nearby, not to mention the award-winning Saturday Farmer’s Market and the restaurant selection in Knysna town.

DIRECTIONS:

From the N2 between Sedgefield & Knysna: About 1.5km west of the Knysna lagoon bridge, turn north onto the Rheenendal road. After 11.5km, just past the Rheenendal Petrol Station, turn right at the Bibby's Hoek sign. Follow the dirt road for 2.2km. Turn left at the intersection and continue for 1.5km. Forest Edge is the last property on this road: tranquility at its best! The dirt roads are quite passable even by small cars - if you have a very low/sports car or if you are especially concerned, please enquire about conditions.
